UC makes use of Canvas as an online distance learning tool

Due to the significant demand for effective ODL tools, University of the Cordilleras came up with a learning management system where students can easily access their modules, assignments, quizzes and exams through the use of canvas.

According to the Dean of one of the Colleges in the university that University of the Cordilleras is the only school in Baguio City who makes use canvas.

University of the Cordilleras started to use this platform for the students to learn efficiently even if they are studying at their respective homes. The university also conducted an online seminar since almost all students including some teachers are not yet familiar with canvas. The speaker of this said seminar is Mr. Jeric De Vera, one of the instructors in UC who demonstrated through zoom meeting on how to use canvas.

Moreover, when the Enhanced Community Quarantine started, University of the Cordilleras also used Google Classroom, Facebook, Messenger for the learners to submit their activities during the second term through online. However, when the third trimester started, the University of the Cordilleras decided to introduce the Canvas and let the students and teachers use it until the term will end.

The action done by the university to introduce the canvas is an effective solution for both teachers and students to cope with the difficulty of this sudden shift to online education.
